Gloves and Padding

There is always a chance that a fun round of paintballing can lead to an injury, in particular with those who may lack padding and gloves. The two are important items to have to save players a trip to the hospital.

Gloves

In any given paintball match, the hands are the one part of the body that are always exposed. As the hands themselves are already tender if injured, consistently getting struck with paintballs during a match without any protection can leave an unwavering sting. It can even mess up the rest of the game for that unfortunate player. The best way to combat that is with a good pair of gloves.

Ideal gloves for paintball not only have a good amount of thickness to them, but they also don’t hinder movement. Flexibility is important so players can still properly wield their marker while staying safe. The good thing about this is that players don’t have to rely just on gloves designed for paintball. Light-duty mechanical gloves can do the job just as well.

Again, the most important thing is that the hands are protected while still maintaining a good range of motion so gameplay is not disrupted.

Padding

For some players, the protection offered by their clothes just isn’t enough. If that is the case, then there are plenty of options to add on some additional padding. There are several kinds of elbow pads, knee pads, shin pads, chest coverage, and even full-arm pads that go from the forearm and down for wider protection.

The likes of shin pads and full-arm pads are ideal for the players who are prone to diving and sliding around the field. With the right padding, they will barely feel the impact from it all.

Just like with gloves, however, padding needs to fit well enough so that it doesn’t get in the way and wind up hurting more than helping. Padding needs to be secure, but not restricting. Anything too tight will make it difficult to move and run. In the event of tournaments, there are regulations in place about padding. Generally, they prohibit anything too thick that will make it harder for the paintball to break.

There are even some padding options that make it easier on the joints. Since paintball is such a physical sport, it can be hard on the body if players are not comfortable. It benefits to find padding that supports the body as much as it protects it.
